Volunteer Awards Night 2024
St Albans Volunteer Awards night
in conjunction with SCIPS (Sandwell Community Information & Participation Service
On Friday 8th November 2024 we held our Volunteer Awards Night in conjunction with SCIPS (Sandwell Community Information & Participation Service).
This is something we usually do on a yearly basis as a thank you to all of our fabulous volunteers for the time and energy they give to St Albans, without whom it would be difficult for us to achieve everything that we aspire to.
The night was a brilliant success, with attendees from all over Sandwell coming together to celebrate their achievements. We had volunteers from various areas including catering, daycare, maintenance and digital champions and we were proud to celebrate them.
The awards ceremony was kicked off with a special plaque being awarded to the volunteers of The Old Cross pub in Langley who very kindly supported St Albans alongside another charity with their Pirate Day 2024 which raised an amazing £550.00 pounds for us, and we had 4 teams from the centre who took part on the day.
The night also saw our longstanding and loyal volunteers receive Certificates, trophies and of course, the coveted beautiful glass trophy that was presented to Omiowunmi Quadri as the Pat Ryan Volunteer of The Year for going above and beyond in giving us her time, her support and showing her caring nature towards all of our clients. In return we are supporting her with access to training, coaching, and mentoring to work towards her goals of becoming a Mental Health Professional. We congratulate her and all our volunteers and once again we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.
