Older Adults Support and Integrated Services - OASIS

The best thing about getting advice is finding out something you didn't know.

OASIS (Older Adult Support and Integrated Services) was launched in August 2017. It is a free service designed to provide personalised support to people aged 55 and over in Smethwick and parts of Oldbury.

OASIS aims to help people stay healthy and live independently in their own homes for longer. No two people are the same and everyone requires a different style of care, so we undertake a home visit to gain a full understanding of the care required. This informal chat in their home environment gives us insight into the support needs of the individual and lets us plan the service accordingly. It has established a knowledge base which allows us to choose the most appropriate service for our clients. Whether it’s visiting local clubs and activities to reduce loneliness and isolation or organising gentle exercise sessions, OASIS caters for everyone.

We can also refer clients to statutory services, enabling them to be assessed for personal care needs; helping them to continue living safely in their home. We can also help with smaller jobs around the house through our local handyman scheme.

The OASIS project is the link to all the services; ensuring the client receives all the support and assistance available to them.

Referrals into the OASIS scheme come from many sources including Adult Social Services, GP’s and other health professionals. However, we also welcome referrals from friends and family members as well as self-referrals.
