St Albans Secures £62,205 from the Climate – The Energy Efficiency Fund

We are delighted to announce that St Albans Community Association has been awarded £62,205 through the Climate – The Energy Efficiency Fund, a programme made possible by the generous support of The Linbury Trust, The Wolfson Foundation, and The Headley Trust.
The Climate – The Energy Efficiency Fund was established to help charities reduce their carbon footprint and improve the energy efficiency of their buildings. The programme provided grants of up to £100,000 for capital projects and up to £10,000 for energy audits. It was administered by The Linbury Trust, with expert assessments undertaken by Ashden, who also manage an ongoing peer-learning network for grant recipients.
St Albans was privileged to be selected as one of the organisations to receive funding. Our grant will enable us to make significant improvements to our premises, including the installation of:
- A new Building Management System (BMS)
- 22 solar panels
- Additional energy efficiency measures, including sub-metering and improved heating controls
These improvements will be transformational for our charity. Not only will they significantly improve the energy efficiency of our building and reduce our carbon emissions, but they are also expected to deliver substantial savings on our heating and energy costs. This means we can redirect more of our resources towards supporting the people and communities who rely on our services.
We are incredibly grateful to The Linbury Trust, The Wolfson Foundation, The Headley Trust, and Ashden for investing in our future and helping us become a more sustainable organisation.
We look forward to sharing further updates as the project is completed and the benefits of these improvements begin to be realised.
