Befriending Volunteer of the Year 2018

On Friday 8th June 2018 St Albans Community Association held their annual volunteer awards at Brandhall Labour Club in Oldbury.

Every year the befriending team are asked to nominate their Befriending Volunteer of the Year. This year they nominated Gill Scarrow.

Gill has volunteered with the Befriending team since March 2014, and during this time she has visited many clients for us.

Gill currently visits 4 clients a week. She often takes them out for breakfast or lunch, goes out walking with them, takes them to medical appointments, takes them to church etc. All of which is above and beyond the remit of a befriending volunteer. We are proud to have her as a volunteer for the Our Friend is Your Friend Project.
